Saturday, April 17, 2010 10 a.m. at the Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 305 East 21st Street, Seminar for Christian Teaching on the theme The Importance of Christian Education and the Importance of Developing a Church Board of Education, led by Dr. James Thornton, Chair, Christian Education Committee. The session will begin at 10 a.m. with a continental breakfast. All pastors, youth ministers, church school superintendents and teachers are cordially invited to this gathering.
Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in keeping with our endeavors to join together in prayer, we are holding an Evening of Prayer at the Mount Paran Baptist Church, 12 Schaefer Street, at 7 p.m. Our host pastor is Reverend Susie Elliott.
Saturday, April 24, 2010 12 noon at the Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 305 East 21st Street (corner Albemarle Road) Joshua Generation Awards Luncheon. We invite you to nominate a young person from your congregation or community for this year's Joshua Generation Award. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize youths who have soared in the following categories: Scholastic Excellence
Creative Achievement
Community Involvement
Achievement in Sports
As the nominating church we encourage you to support your nominee. Ticekts for the luncheon are forty dollars ($40). The honorees will of course be our guests.

Saturday, May 8, 2010 3 p.m. at the Billie Holiday Theatre. We have reserved 150 tickets for a performance of "Grandmothers, Inc.," a comedy. The cost per tickets is $20.
